President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one individual, appoint two individuals and designate four individuals to serve in his Administration:

The President intends to nominate Patricia P. Brister, of Louisiana, to be the Representative of the United States of America on the Commission on the Status of Women of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations with the Rank of Ambassador.

The President intends to appoint Sander R. Gerber, of New York, to be a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (Public), for the remainder of a six-year term expiring October 23, 2008.

The President intends to appoint Tamala Lynne Longaberger, of Ohio, to be a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (Government Representative), for the remainder of a six-year term expiring October 23, 2010.

The President intends to designate Peter Jon Thomas, of New Hampshire, to be Acting Assistant Secretary of Agriculture for Administration.

The President intends to designate the following individuals to be Members of the Intelligence Oversight Board:

David E. Jeremiah, of Virginia

Arthur B. Culvahouse, of Virginia

Donald L. Evans, of Texas
