Press Release: President Bush Announces Intention to Nominate

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to appoint the following individuals to be Members of the Cultural Property Advisory Committee:

The President intends to appoint Joan Breton Connelly of New York (Archaeology), for the remainder of a three-year term expiring April 4, 2003, and an additional term expiring April 4, 2006.

The President intends to appoint James Lorand Matory of Massachusetts (Anthropology), for the remainder of a three-year term expiring April 25, 2004.

The President intends to appoint Nancy Clausen Wilkie of Minnesota (Anthropology), for the remainder of a three-year term expiring April 25, 2005.

The President intends to appoint Meredith J. Long of Texas (International Sales Expert), for the remainder of a three-year term expiring April 25, 2003, and an additional term expiring April 25, 2006.

The President intends to appoint James Wright Willis of California (International Sales Expert), for the remainder of a three-year term expiring April 25, 2004.

The President intends to appoint Willard Lee Boyd of Iowa (Museum), for the remainder of a three-year term expiring April 25, 2005.

The President intends to appoint Jay I. Kislak of Florida (Public), for the remainder of a three-year term expiring April 25, 2005, and upon appointment designate Chairman.

The President intends to appoint Aniko Gaal Schott of Virginia (Public), for the remainder of a three-year term expiring April 25, 2003, and an additional term expiring April 25, 2006.

The President intends to appoint Marta Araoz de la Torre of Florida (Public), for the remainder of a three-year term expiring April 25, 2004.
