Press Release - President Donald J. Trump Announces Intent to Appoint Caren Harp to the Department of Justice

Caren Harp of Virginia to be Administrator of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, Department of Justice. Ms. Harp is a former director of the National Juvenile Justice Prosecution Center at the American Prosecutors Research Institute. She served as chief deputy prosecuting attorney in El Dorado, AR, and served as chief of the Sex Crimes Prosecution Unit in the Family Court Division of the New York City Law Department. Ms. Harp served as the managing public defender for the 13th Judicial District in Arkansas, and as a trial attorney in the Capital Conflicts Unit of the Arkansas Public Defender Commission. She is currently an associate professor at Liberty University School of Law, where she teaches Children and the Law, Evidence, Professional Responsibility, and skills courses. Ms. Harp serves on the ABA Juvenile Justice Standards Task Force, and the National Steering Committee for the Vision 21 Project at National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. Ms. Harp earned a B.S. in agriculture, an M.S. agricultural economics, and a J.D. from the University of Arkansas – Fayetteville.
