Bruce Hamilton, Nominee for Member, Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board
Bruce Hamilton has served as a Member of the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board since August 2015. He is a veteran of more than 30 years in the nuclear energy field. Prior to his appointment to the Board, Mr. Hamilton was the President of Fuelco LLC from 2009 to 2013 and was an engineering director at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant from 2003 to 2008, where he held a Nuclear Regulatory Commission Senior Reactor Operator's license. Mr. Hamilton served in the U.S. Navy from 1978 to 2002, retiring with the rank of Captain. He supervised nuclear operations in six warships, commanded a seventh, and served as the Reactor Officer for the mid-life refueling overhaul of an aircraft carrier. A registered professional engineer, Mr. Hamilton received a B.S. from Texas A&M University, an M.A. from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, and a Ph.D. from The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy.
