Readout of Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff's Meeting with Jewish Leaders in the United Kingdom
Today, Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff met with Jewish community leaders in London, United Kingdom. The Second Gentleman heard directly from the Jewish leaders about the surge in antisemitic threats in the United Kingdom since the October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks. The participants shared their personal experiences and reactions to ongoing antisemitic incidents. They also spoke about their commitment to work together to counter the scourge of antisemitism.
Mr. Emhoff spoke about the actions the Biden-Harris Administration is taking to counter hate following the release of the first-ever United States National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism. The Second Gentleman stressed the importance of building coalitions around the world, teaching Jewish history and culture, and improving safety and security for Jewish communities. While in London, the Second Gentleman will have additional meetings, including with the Chelsea Football Club Foundation, to promote the Say No to Hate campaign, which aims to fight racism, antisemitism or any form of discrimination.
