Readout of the President's Call to with State and Local Elected Officials on the Affordable Care Act
Today, the President hosted a conference call with state and local elected officials to discuss efforts to enroll residents in the health insurance marketplaces. On the call were mayors, county officials, city council members, and state legislators from across the country, as well as community leaders who have been working on ACA enrollment efforts with these officials. Secretary Sebelius and Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett also participated in the call.
The President thanked officials of both parties, who have been leading local outreach programs and encouraged everyone on the call to continue to educate their residents about the importance of enrolling in health care before March 31. The President also encouraged officials to participate in an enrollment day of action. The President expressed his commitment to continuing to work with state and local officials from across the country to ensure that every American can get the coverage they need.
