Readout of the President's Meeting with Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain

President Donald J. Trump met today with Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain to discuss the strong partnership between the United States and Bahrain. During his visit, the Crown Prince promoted $9 billion in commercial deals with United States companies, including the purchase of F-16s and the extension of the United States-Bahrain Defense Cooperation Agreement for 15 years. The Crown Prince voiced Bahrain's strong support for the strategy of the United States on Iran. The President and Crown Prince discussed their shared concerns regarding the Iranian regime's continued malign influence in Bahrain and elsewhere in the region and their coordination to counter Iran's destabilizing activities. The leaders discussed the importance of a strong, united Gulf Cooperation Council as the best buttress against terrorist organizations and Iran.
