The Vice President and Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff spoke by phone this afternoon to review preparations for her June 29th-30th visit to Washington. The Vice President conveyed that President Obama's invitation was a reflection of our commitment to deliver on the enormous potential of the U.S.-Brazil partnership for the benefit of the American people and the people of Brazil. The Vice President praised President Rousseff for her leadership in developing a comprehensive agenda to advance cooperation on various issues, including defense, trade, education, and science and technology. He also emphasized the importance of working with Brazil and other partners to produce a robust Paris climate agreement in December and the economic importance of facilitating travel between the United States and Brazil.
