The two leaders noted that this operation is part of a concerted campaign to increase pressure on ISIL in its heartland and disrupt supply routes between Mosul and Raqqa. They emphasized that this pressure will continue over the coming weeks and months. ?The Vice President praised cooperation between the coalition and Peshmerga forces and underscored the United States' strong commitment to working with the global coalition, the Government of Iraq, and the Kurdistan Regional Government to continue to degrade and ultimately destroy ISIL.
