Readout of Vice President Biden's Call with President Juan Orlando Hernandez of Honduras
The Vice President spoke with President Juan Orlando Hernandez of Honduras by telephone today to review progress on the implementation of the Alliance for Prosperity Plan for the Northern Triangle of Central America. The Vice President praised Honduras' progress in improving security and tax administration and urged continued commitment to combating corruption and upholding the rule of law. President Hernandez expressed his gratitude for the Vice President's sustained engagement with Central America and pledged his continuing efforts to advance prosperity, security, and governance in Honduras and the region. Both leaders agreed on the importance of maintaining bipartisan support for Central America in the United States Congress and the need to sustain the reform momentum in the year ahead.
