Readout of Vice President Harris's Call with President Caputova of Slovakia

Vice President Kamala Harris spoke today with President Zuzana Caputova of Slovakia. The Vice President thanked President Caputova for her leadership fighting corruption and revitalizing democracy. The leaders discussed our collective response to Russia's unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine and consulted on next steps. The leaders discussed the strength and unity of NATO in this critical moment and welcomed efforts to strengthen deterrence and defense. Additionally, the leaders discussed our efforts to surge assistance to the people of Ukraine, both those in Ukraine and throughout the region. They discussed security, humanitarian and economic assistance and ways to ensure aid gets to those most in need. The Vice President welcomed Slovakia's contributions to the collective response and the leaders agreed we will continue to support the people of Ukraine.
