Sanders Campaign Press Release - Minnesota AG Keith Ellison to Stump in South Carolina for Bernie Sanders on Saturday, February 22, 2020

COLUMBIA - Bernie 2020 national surrogates Attorney General Keith Ellison and civil rights icon Dr. Cornel West will travel to South Carolina to campaign for Sen. Bernie Sanders this weekend as we head into the First-in-the-South Democratic Primary.

Formerly a Congressman from Minnesota's Fifth Congressional District, Ellison made history in 2018 when he became the first African-American elected to statewide office in Minnesota and the first Muslim to win statewide office in America.

First Calvary Baptist Church, Fellowship Hall, 1401 Pine St, Columbia, SC 29204

Information for the public: Doors will open at 2:00 p.m. and the program will feature Bernie 2020 national surrogates Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison and Dr. Cornel West as well as SC State Representative Justin Bamberg and local attorney DJ Carson. The event is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required, but an RSVP is encouraged. Entry is on a first come, first served basis.
