Spain: Meeting With Prime Minister Adolfo Suarez and Government Officials White House Statement.
President Carter and Prime Minister Suarez met this evening at the Moncloa Palace for a working dinner, preceded by an hour's private conversation. Their discussions in all lasted 2 hours and covered a broad range of international issues including Afghanistan, Iran, the Middle East, the Western Sahara, and the Madrid CSCE review conference, as well as issues of bilateral interest.
In addition to the two leaders, those present at the dinner included, on the U.S. side, Dr. Brzezinski, Under Secretaries of State Newsom and Cooper and Ambassador Todman; as well as on the Spanish side, Foreign Minister Oreja, Commerce Minister Gamir, Information Secretary Milia and Ambassador Llado.
