STATEMENT OF ADMINISTRATION POLICY

The Administration opposes House passage of H.R. 2434 unless it is removed from the suspension calendar and amended to:

(1) authorize appropriations of $84,739,000 for 1986 and such sums as may be necessary for 1987, as requested in the 1986 Budget; (2) delete the prohibition on the use of patent and trademark fees for procurement of PTO automatic data processing equipment (ADP) and for search libraries; (3) delete the requirement that trademark and patent fee adjustments be limited to consumer price index increases; and (4) delete the limitation on the use of exchange agreements for ADP resources.
