Statement by Deputy NSC Spokesman Benjamin Chang on the Visit of National Security Advisor General James Jones to Afghanistan

General Jones visited Kabul on July 16 to meet with Ambassador Eikenberry, General Petraeus, and Afghan and international officials. He had just concluded a visit to New Delhi for meetings with Indian officials and took advantage of being in the region to make the brief stop. He discussed the current security situation, regional stability, and the upcoming Kabul Conference.
