On Thursday, October 21, 2004, the President signed into law:
H.R. 5122, which allows members of the Board of Directors of the legislative branch's Office of Compliance to serve for two terms.
S. 33, which authorizes the Secretary of Agriculture to sell or exchange certain administrative sites and land in the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest in Arkansas and Ouachita National Forests in Arkansas and Oklahoma.
S. 1791, which requires that amounts received from the sale of property in New Mexico under the administrative jurisdiction of the Interior Department be mad available to two specified irrigation and water districts in New Mexico and Texas, respectively.
S. 2178, the "National Park System Laws Technical Amendment Act of 2004," which makes technical corrections to current laws relating to the National Park System.
S. 2415, which designates the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 4141 Postmark Drive, Anchorage, Alaska, as the "Robert J. Opinsky Post Office Building".
S. 2511, the "Chimayo Water Supply System and Espanola Filtration Facility Act of 2004," which authorizes appropriations for the Secretary of the Interior to: (1) conduct a feasibility study of the Chimayo, New Mexico, water supply system and enter into contracts for emergency water supply; and (2) provide financial assistance to Espanola, New Mexico, for the construction of a water filtration facility.
S. 2634, the "Garrett Lee Smith Memorial Act," which authorizes appropriations for youth suicide intervention and prevention programs and related activities within the Department of Health and Human Services.
S. 2742, which (1) extends the authority of the Supreme Court Police and the Marshal of the Supreme Court to protect Court; (2) adds a venue for prosecuting offenses related to the Supreme Court building and grounds; and (3) authorizes the acceptance of gifts to the Supreme Court.
