Statement by the Press Secretary on H.R. 4589, H.R. 4635, and S. 2238

On Wednesday, June 30, 2004, the President signed into law:

H.R. 4589, the TANF and Related Programs Continuation Act of 2004, which extends the Temporary Assistant for Needy Families block grant and other programs through September 30, 2004.

H.R. 4635, the Surface Transportation Extension Act of 2004, Part III, which provides funding for programs funded from the Highway Trust Fund through July 31, 2004.

S. 2238, the Bunning-Bereuter-Blumenauer Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2004, which reauthorizes the National Flood Insurance Program through September 30, 2008.
