Statement by the Press Secretary: President Signs Bills

On Monday, November 5, 2001, the President signed the following bills:

H.R. 146, the "Great Falls Historic District Study Act of 2001," which directs the Secretary of the Interior to study the suitability and feasibility of designating the Great Falls Historic District in Paterson, New Jersey, as a unit of the National Park System;

H.R. 1000, the "William Howard Taft National Historic Site Boundary Adjustment Act of 2001," which provides for the acquisition of lands for the William Howard Taft National Historic Site in Cincinnati, Ohio;

H.R. 1161, which authorizes the Government of the Czech Republic to establish a memorial in honor of Tomas Masaryk, the first President of Czechoslovakia, on Federal land in the District of Columbia;

H.R. 1668, which authorizes the Adams Memorial Foundation to establish a memorial on Federal land in the District of Columbia in honor of former President John Adams and his family.
