Statement by the Press Secretary: President to Welcome Chinese President Hu Jintao to the White House

President Bush will welcome Chinese President Hu Jintao to the White House on April 20, 2006. The visit is an opportunity for the President to work with the Chinese leader on a number of areas of mutual interest and to make progress in resolving outstanding differences. The President looks forward to discussing with President Hu a full range of regional and international issues, including the war on terror, nonproliferation, and advancing freedom and promoting prosperity in Asia and beyond.
