Statement by the Press Secretary on the President's Upcoming Meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan

President Obama will meet with newly-elected Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama in New York on Wednesday, September 23. The two leaders will be in New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly. Japan is a close friend and a key ally of the United States and the President looks forward to his first meeting with Prime Minister Hatoyama and exploring ways in which the two countries can deepen their partnership.
