Statement by the Press Secretary: Visit by President Rahmonov of Tajikistan to Washington

President Bush will meet with President Emomali Rahmonov of Tajikistan at the White House on December 9, 2002. Tajikistan has contributed significantly to the global war on terrorism, and particularly, to Operation Enduring Freedom. Following civil war in the mid-1990's, Tajikistan is striving toward political and economic reforms that can provide hope to its citizens and to its neighbors in Afghanistan and Central Asia.
