Superior Court of the District of Columbia Nomination of Ricardo M. Urbina To Be an Associate Judge.

The President today announced that he will nominate Ricardo M. Urbina, of Washington, D.C., to be an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia for a 15-year term. He would replace Norma Holloway Johnson, who has been appointed a district judge.

Urbina has been a professor at Howard University Law School since 1974.

He was born January 31, 1946, in New York City. He received a B.A. from Georgetown University in 1967 and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1970.

From 1970 to 1972, Urbina was an attorney with the Public Defender Service in the District of Columbia. He was in private law practice from 1972 to 1973.
