Experienced State Leaders to Head Operation
Mclean, VA - The Fred Thompson campaign announced today the co-chairmen and state coordinator of its Maryland campaign organization. State Senator David Brinkley and Delegate Anthony O'Donnell will co-chair the Fred Thompson campaign operation in Maryland, while Chris Cavey will serve as state coordinator.
Senator Brinkley began his service in the Maryland state legislature as a Member of the House of Delegates in 1995. In 2003 he was elected to the State Senate where he was selected as Minority Leader in 2007. He currently serves as a member of the Budget and Taxation Committee, as well as the Joint Committee on Children, Youth, and Families. A native of Frederick, Maryland, Senator Brinkley is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park.
Delegate O'Donnell currently serves as the Minority Leader for the Republican Party in the House of Delegates. A member of the state legislature since 1995, Delegate O'Donnell has served in various leadership positions within his party, including most recently as its Minority Whip. A nine-year veteran of the United States Navy, Delegate O'Donnell has also served as a delegate to the 1996, 2000, and 2004 Republican National Conventions.
Chris Cavey has been active in Maryland politics for over a decade. Since 2003 he has served as Chairman of the Baltimore County Republican Party. He is the First Vice-Chairman of the Maryland Republican Party and was instrumental in coordinating operations in Baltimore County for the Bush-Cheney campaigns in 2000 and 2004.
