VP Supplemental Pool #1 -Checking In

Hey all -- I'm your pooler for the VP's swearing in of Edgard Kagan as the Ambassador. The White House sends the below. We're slated for a 1:30 start time.

Today, Vice President Kamala Harris is swearing in Edgard D. Kagan as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to Malaysia. She will be joined by Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff. Mr. Kagan was favorably reported by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in June before being confirmed by the full Senate last month. Kagan was joined by his spouse, two kids, mom and his sister. There was also staff, friends.

The VP started with remarks thanking Kagan for what he's done for the administration, he was a lead on multiple trips of hers to the Indopacific and traveled with the second gentleman on his trip to the Philippines.

"You are an incredible public servant" she says, adding that it is "only right and fitting" that he will now be the ambassador.
