Good evening from Joint Base Andrews. Vice President JD Vance is heading to Paris for the AI summit, staying there three-and-a-half days, and then going on to the Munich security conference.

He is accompanied by his wife, Usha, and their three children, Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel.

I'll be your ink-stained pooler for the first two days of the Summit, which will be the Vice President's first international trip since the inauguration. The summit is co-hosted by President Macron and

Marine II landed at Andrews at 7:19 pm. It was bitterly cold The kids boarded first, running across the tarmac, apparently already in their pajamas. (Good advance planning.) Usha Vance boarded next, followed by the Vice President, who was wearing jeans and a short-sleeve T-shirt. He did not answer a shouted question or two, but bounded up the steps at 7:22. He came back to the cabin just ahead of where your poolers are sitting, but reversed course before we had a chance to say hello.
