Vice Presidential Pool Reports of March 14, 2025

VP pool report #1 — JBA/wheels up

Good morning from JBA. VP is headed to Bay City, MI for remarks and a tour of the Vantage Plastics manufacturing facility.

Marine Two touched down at 9:17am, and VP and Second Lady Usha Vance boarded Air Force Two at 9:24. VP did not answer a shouted question about Steve Witkoff's meeting with Putin, but waved to the press before boarding.

Wheels up shortly, but one note: VP is traveling on a smaller craft, not the normal AF2, and pool is traveling in a separate chaser plane due to space constraints.

VP pool report #2 — wheels down, Saginaw

Press pool touched down at MBS International Airport in Saginaw at 10:50am. Pool is preparing to move under AF2 wing to catch VP deboarding.

VP pool report #3 — motorcade rolling

VP and SLOTUS disembarked AF2 at 11:14am and hopped in the motorcade. Again, no responses to questions on Ukraine-Russia talks

Pool has requested list of travelers/greeters, will send if received, but SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler deplaned ahead of VP

VP pool report #4 — arrival, Vantage Plastics

Motorcade arrived at destination at 11:45am following an uneventful ride. Though it's a pleasant and sunny 51 degrees out, motorcade did pass a number of snowbanks on the side of the highway en route.

A small group elementary age children were lined up out front of their school to wave at the motorcade about halfway through the trip. A number of other pedestrians filmed and waved flags along the way. There were two groups of protesters, roughly 50 people in all, flanking the entrance to the facility, holding signs criticizing Trump/Vance on DOGE, Ukraine, Gaza, Mahmoud Khalil, and other topics

Pool did not have eyes on VP's entrance and is moving into position for remarks. White House advises that VP will no longer be touring the facility, just delivering remarks, due to shifts in his schedule.

VP pool report #5 — remarks start/color

VP and SLOTUS took the stage at 12:10pm, following remarks by Loeffler

The stage was positioned in front of a gigantic American flag, hung in front of a few dozen Vantage-manufactured plastic containers. Signage for "Vantage Plastics," "The Well," "Airpark Plastics," "Lotis Technologies," and "Edge Materials Management" flanked the stage.

There are roughly 200 people in attendance, and pool spots at least 5 MAGA/campaign branded red hats in the crowd.

VP pool report #6 — remarks conclude

Pool is moving back to the motorcade while VP and SLOTUS shook hands and visited with attendees

Pool did not have eyes on VP but safe to assume he and SLOTUS are with us

VP pool report #7a — protest swells

The protest outside of Vantage had swelled considerably by the time motorcade passed on the way out… two particularly notable signs: "TRAITOR VANCE" and "GO HOME COUCH-BUM"

VP pool report #8 — arrival MBS

Motorcade arrived back at MBS at 1:03pm following a MOSTLY routine drive. Shoutout to the deft brake and wheel work of pool van #2's driver, which helped avoid a fender bender approaching the airport exit

VP pool report #9 — wheels up/no questions

VP and SLOTUS exited their SUV and boarded AF2 at 1:08pm

Your pooler appeared to grab VP's attention with a question: "have you spoken to the president about Wikoff's meeting with Putin?"

VP stopped walking, turned, smiled and waved to the press, but continued boarding without answering.

VP pool report #10 — wheels down , JBA

Press plane touched down at JBA at 3:08pm. AF2 was already on the tarmac, and WH informed pool that VP had already departed.
