VP pool report #1: Book shop visit

Happy Saturday, I'm your pooler for Vice President Harris this afternoon on Small Business Saturday.

Vice President Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff arrived at Bold Fork Books in northwest DC at 1:29 p.m. She was greeted by staff members, and there were a few patrons in the shop who looked on smiling.

"Hi guys, you just hanging out?" she asked the patrons.

Harris wore a green jacket while the second gentleman wore a brown leather jacket. She told staff she enjoys reading cookbooks and asked them what they were "loving right now" as she browsed.

At one point she held a copy of "Streamlined Cooking" by Irma S. Rombauer before giving it back to a staff member.

Pool was moved out of the book shop at 1:32 and made our way back around to the front to capture the VP's departure. She stepped out of the shop at 1:48. A small crowd of a couple dozen people had gathered on the corner to watch and let out a cheer when Harris and Emhoff exited. "Happy holidays," Harris said as she waved. Motorcade departed at 1:50.

VP pool report #2: Lid

Per the White House: The Vice President and the Second Gentleman arrived to the U.S. Naval Observatory at 1:58 p.m. That's a lid.
