At 3:30 pm ET, the Vice President will ceremonially swear in the President's Advisory Council on African Diaspora Engagement in the United States. This swearing-in in the Indian Treaty Room will be pooled press and livestreamed at WhiteHouse.Gov/Live.

Secretary Anthony Blinken and Ambassador Jonnie Carson just arrived for the ceremonial swearing in of President's Advisory Council on African Diaspora Engagement in the United States.

Senator Chris Coons and well as 12 members of the President's Advisory Council on African Diaspora Engagement in the United States.

VP Kamala Harris entered the Indian Treathy room at 3:55pm, introduced by Secretary Blinken.

The VP began her remarks by acknowledging Sen. Coons. She then thanked the members of the council.

She talked about the historic.connection between the U.S., Africa and the African diaspora. About partnerships and what the U.S. can do with the continent.

She administered the oath.

The VP then took a family photo with the council.
