VP Supplemental Pool #1- Awaiting VP London departure

Good Morning,
Your pool is gathered at JBA awaiting the arrival of Vice President Kamala Harris, who will travel to London today for a 3-day-trip where she will outline the Biden administration’s goals for AI, represent the U.S. at UK Prime Minister Sunak’s AI Safety Summit, and participate in other diplomatic events.

For your reference, from the VP Office’s guidance:

"Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff will visit London, United Kingdom from October 31 to November 3. The Vice President will share the Biden-Harris Administration’s vision for the future of Artificial Intelligence and represent the United States at the Global Summit on AI Safety at Bletchley Park. The Second Gentleman will participate in a series of engagements with civil society and community leaders focused on combating hate and promoting gender equity."

VP Supplemental Pool #2– VP Arrival at JBA/ Wheels Up

Vice President Harris landed at JBA on Marine 2 at JBA at 8:54 a.m. and disembarked at 8:59 a.m.

The VP, accompanied by Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff, ascended the stairs of AF2 at 8:59 a.m. They turned and waved to your pool before boarding.

They came back to the cabin and said brief hello after the pool boarded.

We are rolling at 9:07 a.m. and are wheels up shortly.

VP Supplemental Pool #3– Wheels Up

We were wheels up to London at 9:12 a.m.

VP Supplemental Pool #4– Arrival in London

AF2 landed at London-Stansted at 7:37 p.m. local time. In addition to formal greeters, there was a sizable group of British press at the airport for the VP’s arrival.

The VP and SGOTUS disembarked AF2 at 7:53 p.m.

On Background From a White House Official:
Upon arrival at London-Stansted Airport, the Vice President and Second Gentleman were greeted by Gordon Weatherall and Ambassador Jane Hartley.

Upon greeting, VP and the Ambassador hugged. They all boarded Army 2, which lifted at 8:12 p.m., and are on their way to the RON.
