Greetings from a sunny New York. The White House sent the following:

'Vice President Kamala Harris is conducting phone interviews with CNN and The Weather Channel to discuss life-saving preparations for Hurricane Milton.'

VP out of town pool report #2/ Motorcade rolling

VPOTUS's motorcade departed the RON in midtown Manhattan at 2.17pm, heading to LaGuardia airport for a flight to Las Vegas.

VP out of town pool report #3/ Air Force Two

VPOTUS's motorcade arrived at LaGuardia airport in New York at 2.39pm after an uneventful journey.

VPOTUS posed for a group photo with volunteers, advance staff and motorcade drivers outside Air Force Two at 2.45pm. She did not speak to the press.

VP out of town pool report #4/ VPOTUS speaks OTR

VPOTUS, wearing a dark blue jacket and blue jeans. spoke to reporters off the record for five minutes on Air Force Two. We are about to take off for Las Vegas.

VP out of town pool report #5/ Hurricane Milton

Air Force Two lifted off from New York at 3.10pm ET and touched down in Las Vegas at 4.43pm PT after an uneventful flight.

From a White House official:

'Today, Vice President Kamala Harris spoke by phone with Mayor Ken Welch of St. Petersburg, Florida about ongoing preparations for Hurricane Milton. The Vice President discussed federal efforts to prepare for the storm, including the prepositioning of rescue teams and other resources. More than 8,000 Federal personnel are on the ground across the Southeast, including in Florida, to continue Hurricane Helene recovery efforts and respond to the impacts of Hurricane Milton. She will continue to connect with Florida officials in the coming days.

Earlier today, she participated in a briefing on preparations for Hurricane Milton with President Joe Biden, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell, U.S. Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Linda Fagan, National Weather Service Director Ken Graham, National Hurricane Center Director Dr. Michael Brennan, and Homeland Security Advisor Liz Sherwood-Randall. During the briefing, the Vice President received an update on the latest forecast for Hurricane Milton, expected impacts for the State of Florida, and the robust pre-landfall preparations underway. She also reiterated that we are there to support Helene and Milton response for the long haul.'

VP out of town pool report #6/ VPOTUS in Vegas

VPOTUS descended the stairs of Air Force Two at 5pm PT, saluted and met four greeters. She held good humoured conversations with them for a few minutes.

More than once VPOTUS turned and appeared to be looking at Las Vegas attractions: from the tarmac, it is easy to see Luxor, MGM Grand, the Sphere. imitations of the Empire State Building and Eiffel Tower and others.

She posed for a group photo with the greeters then climbed into a limousine at 5.04pm PT. Motorcade is rolling.
