White House Press Release - This is the Best Proof that President Trump's Border Policies are Working

February 15, 2025

President Donald J. Trump's crackdown on illegal immigration is working so well that illegal immigrants are no longer even attempting to cross our southern border.

  • Fox News reported on CBP memos that revealed groups of migrants that were "previously headed for the United States" had "turned around to return to their home countries" after "learning about the multi-agency force security on the Southwest Border in social media and through family members in the United States."
  • A Washington Times story noted that "officials from Panama and Costa Rica met this week to work out details for how to handle the flow, which is already a steady stream and could become a flood as people who'd been waiting in Mexico for a shot at the U.S. give up."
  • In Puebla, Mexico's fourth largest city, officials are preparing for a wave of deportations and have announced the development of a labor reintegration program to help deported migrants. Meanwhile, the Mexican government has given a $9.3 million contract for 140 shelters to help with the "flow of migrants returning to Mexico," according to a report in El Cronista.
  • A Telemundo report found that migrants in Mexico are either trying to return to their home country or stay in Mexico "following restrictions imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump." Telemundo's report found that the closure of the border meant that migrants from Honduras, El Salvador, Colombia, and Venezuela are heading back home to their countries instead of continuing the long and dangerous trip to America's southern border.

President Trump's enforcement of our immigration laws is WORKING. Encounters of illegal immigrants at our southern border are plummeting and migrants are starting to realize it's fruitless to attempt to illegally cross our border.
