The two sides held a cordial and constructive meeting in a spirit of understanding and mutual respect. International issues including East-West relations, Afghanistan, Iran, the Middle East, and international economic problems were discussed. The strength of the bilateral relations between the two countries was confirmed. The two sides agreed to issue a joint statement at the conclusion of the visit.
