South Pacific Commission Appointment of George Chaplin as U.S. Alternate Representative.

The President today announced the appointment of George Chaplin as United States Alternate Representative on the South Pacific Commission. He replaces D. Hebden Porteus.
Chaplin, 64, of Honolulu, has been editor of the Honolulu Advertiser since 1959. Before moving to Hawaii he was managing editor, then editor of the New Orleans Item.
