United Nations Designation of James E. Baker as Deputy U.S. Representative on the Economic and Social Council.

The President today announced that he has designated James E. Baker, of Santa Rosa, Calif., as Deputy Representative of the United States on the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
Baker, 44, is now adviser to the Economic and Social Council at the U.S. Mission to the U.N.
He has been a Foreign Service officer since 1960 and has been at the U.N. since 1974.
