President George W. Bush today announced the recess appointments of the following individuals:

The President has signed the recess appointment of Peter Eide of Maryland to be General Counsel of the Federal Labor Relations Authority for a five-year term. The President nominated Mr. Eide on June 28, 2002 and again on January 9, 2003.

The President has signed the recess appointment of R. Bruce Matthews of New Mexico to be a Member of the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board, for the remainder of a five-year term expiring October 18, 2005. The President nominated Mr. Matthews on May 8, 2002 and again on January 9, 2003.

The President has signed the recess appointment of Naomi Churchill Earp of Virginia to be a Member of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, for the remainder of a five-year term expiring July 1, 2005, and designate as Vice Chairman. The President nominated Ms. Earp on November 27, 2001 and again on January 9, 2003.

The President has signed the recess appointment of Neil McPhie of Virginia to be a Member of the Merit Systems Protection Board, for the remainder of a seven-year term expiring March 1, 2009. The President nominated Mr. McPhie on July 9, 2002 and again on January 9, 2003.

The President has signed the recess appointment of William A. Schambra of Virginia to be a Member of the Board of Directors of the Corporation for National and Community Service for the remainder of a five-year term expiring September 14, 2006. The President nominated Mr. Schambra on June 13, 2002 and again on January 9, 2003.

The President has signed the recess appointment of Donna N. Williams of Texas to be a Member of the Board of Directors of the Corporation for National and Community Service for the remainder of a five-year term expiring October 6, 2006. The President nominated Ms. Williams on June 13, 2002 and again on January 9, 2003.

The President has signed the recess appointment of April H. Foley of New York to be a Member of the Board of Directors of the Export-Import Bank of the United States, for the remainder of a four-year term expiring January 20, 2007. The President nominated Ms. Foley on April 10, 2003.

The President has signed the recess appointment of Stanley C. Suboleski of Virginia to be a Member of the Federal Mine Health and Safety Review Commission, for the remainder of a six-year term expiring August 30, 2006. The President nominated Mr. Suboleski on March 22, 2002 and again on January 9, 2003.

The President has signed the recess appointment of Lillian R. BeVier of Virginia to be a Member of the Board of Directors of the Legal Services Corporation for the remainder of a three-year term expiring July 13, 2004. The President nominated Ms. BeVier on April 9, 2002 and again on January 9, 2003.

The President has signed the recess appointment of Thomas A. Fuentes of California to be a Member of the Board of Directors of the Legal Services Corporation for the remainder of a three-year term expiring July 13, 2005. The President nominated Mr. Fuentes on April 9, 2002 and again on January 9, 2003.

The President has signed the recess appointment of James C. Miller, III of Virginia to be Governor of the Board of Governors of the United States Postal Service, for the remainder of a nine-year term expiring December 8, 2010. The President nominated Mr. Miller on July 26, 2002 and again on January 9, 2003.
