Executive Order 5053—Authorizing the Appointment of Anna M. Archibald Without Regard to Civil Service Rules

Mrs. Anna M. Archibald, widow of Captain Robert J. Archibald, U. S. Marine Corps, killed in an airplane crash, November 1, 1928, while a student at the Army Air Corps Tactical School, may be appointed to any position for which she is qualified in the Federal service without regard to the Civil Service Act or Rules.
This order is issued upon recommendation of the Secretary of the Navy. The Civil Service Commission is unable to concur.
