Executive Order 5056—Authorizing the Appointment of Mary Scott Mills Without Regard to Civil Service Rules

Mrs. Mary Scott Mills, widow of Mr. John S. Mills who served the Government very efficiently for fifty-one years and from 1897 in the Treasury Department, may be appointed to an appropriate classified position without reference to the civil service rules.
This Order is recommended by the Secretary of the Treasury. The Civil Service Commission is unable to concur.
