Executive Order 5324—Designating Leopoldville, Belgian Congo, as an Unhealthful Post in the Foreign Service

Under and pursuant to the provisions of section 18, paragraph (k), of the act of Congress approved May 24, 1924, entitled "An act for the reorganization and improvement of the Foreign Service of the United States, and for other purposes," which paragraph reads as follows:

"(k) The President is authorized from time to time to establish, by Executive Order, a list of places in tropical countries which by reason of climatic or other extreme conditions are to be classed as unhealthful posts, and each year of duty at such posts, while so classed, inclusive of regular leaves of absence, shall be counted as on_e year and a half, and so on in like proportion in reckoning the length of service for tlie purposes of retirement."

the following place is hereby established as an unhealthful post for the purposes of retirement within the meaning of the law above quoted, in addition to those places already so established:

Leopoldville, Belgian Congo, upon the transfer of the consulate at Loanda, Angola, to Leopoldville.
