After a dominating performance in Detroit, Michigan at the second Democratic debate, U.S. Representative Brenda Lawrence endorsed Senator Kamala Harris for president on CNN's New Day. Lawrence, who is the ninth member of the Congressional Black Caucus to endorse Harris, serves as the caucus's 2nd Vice Chair. Lawrence also serves as Co-Chair of the bipartisan Congressional Caucus for Women's Issues.

Lawrence, a proud product of Michigan public schools, cited Harris' tenacity, courage, and compassion as a major reason for her endorsement.
