(SAN FRANCISCO, September 11, 2019) — Today, presidential candidate for the Democratic nomination Tom Steyer released the following statement in observance of 9/11:
"Today, on the eighteenth anniversary of September 11, 2001, we remember the innocent lives tragically lost, and we honor those brave first responders, and heroic people, who put themselves in harm's way to save their neighbors. New York City was my home for many years; but on that solemn day, we were all New Yorkers. While that heinous terrorist attack tested our resolve, it did not break us. We do not cower in the face of danger or hate, no matter its form. Then and now, here in the United States, the best version of ourselves is when we draw strength through unity and remain courageous in the face of those who might try to divide us."
