Executive Order 9402—Designating Dr. R.R. Sayers, Director of the Bureau of Mines, To Act as Under Secretary, First Assistant Secretary, or Assistant Secretary of the Interior
By virtue of the authority vested in me by section 179 of the Revised Statutes (U.S.C., title 5, sec. 6), I hereby authorize and designate Dr. R.R. Sayers, Director of the Bureau of Mines of the Department of the Interior, when so directed by the Secretary of the Interior, to perform the duties of the Under Secretary of the Interior, or the First Assistant Secretary of the Interior, or the Assistant Secretary of the Interior, during the absence or sickness of the Under Secretary, or the First Assistant Secretary, or the Assistant Secretary of the Interior.
