Statement by Communications Director Liza Acevedo on Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff's Travel to France

Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff will visit Paris, France from August 7 to 12. On behalf of President Biden, the Second Gentleman will lead the Presidential Delegation to the Closing Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. He will also meet with Team USA athletes and attend Olympic events. In addition to his Olympic engagements, the Second Gentleman will engage government officials and senior leaders at UNESCO. He will convene a roundtable to highlight global efforts to promote Holocaust education and combat antisemitism. The Second Gentleman will also deliver remarks at the annual commemoration for the victims of the 1982 Rue des Rosiers attack.
