Vice Presidential Pool Reports of July 10, 2024

Good morning from Dallas. I'm your pooler for the VP's events today.

Just one thing on the VP's public schedule — a keynote speech at the AKA biennial convention / boulé at 11 am CT. The event will be live-streamed at https://www.whitehouse.gov/live/

Motorcade started rolling at 10:50 and arrived at the convention center at 10:58 after an uneventful motorcade ride.

From the guidance:

At 11:00 AM CT, the Vice President will deliver a keynote speech during Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.'s 71st Boulé in Dallas, TX.

VPOTUS, wearing a pink pantsuit and pearls, began speaking at 11:17 am.

She made remarks on Hurricane Beryl "Our hearts are with the millions of Texans affected. … We will continue to stand with the people of Texas as we rebuild and recover."

Organizers estimated the crowd at between 19,000 and 20,000 (unofficially), almost all decked out in pink and green, many sporting tiaras. As VPOTUS stepped to the lectern, she was met with a chorus of "skee-wees" including from some of her line sisters who appear to be seated just in front of the press risers.

Harris said she was announcing for the first time national standards for post-partum care. Seeking more info on this.

VPOTUS remarks ended at 11:36 am. She walked out to a standing ovation and shouts of "four more years."

Motorcade departed at 12:34 pm. Pool did not see VPOTUS get in the SUV.

After an uneventful ride through the streets of Dallas, motorcade arrived at Air Force 2 at 1:02 pm.

VPOTUS did not take shouted questions about calls for Biden to step aside and we are wheels up shortly.

VPOTUS Pool report No 4 — JBA

Air Force 2 was wheels up at 1:14 p.m. CT and wheels down at JBA at 4:40 pm. ET

The VP's director of communications spoke with reporters off the record. No other visitors.
And an otherwise uneventful flight.

VPOTUS disembarked at 4:55 pm and boarded the helicopter without speaking with reporters.
