Out-of-town pool report #1 Marine One landed at Andrews Air Force base at 2:17 p.m. on a balmy fall afternoon. President Biden, dressed in a dark navy suit and dark tie, got out at 2:19 pm. He boarded Air Force One at 2:20 pm and did not speak to the pool. Air Force One will be wheels up shortly. |

Out of town pool report #3 Air Force One was wheels down at 3:02 pm. Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre gaggle with the press for about 20 minutes. She was accompanied by Dy. Secretary of Labor Julie Su, who talked about the jobs report. Jean-Pierre did not comment on whether the president's transcript of his conversation with Voto Latino was altered. She instead pointed to the president's statement on what he meant to say about the "garbage" controversy. The president deplaned at 3:15 pm and boarded Marine One en route to north Philadelphia. |

Out of town pool report #4 Marine One landed at Northeast Philadelphia airport at 3:35 pm. President Biden stepped off at 3:39 pm and shook hands with and posed for photographs with about 10 people waiting to great him at the tarmac. The president and got into the motorcade en route to Local 692 Hall at 3:41 pm. The pool is following in the motorcade. There are about 150 union members seated on aluminum chairs. Some are wearing T shirts saying "Philly is a Union Town." There's Johny Cash's "I walk the line" and Bon Jovi's "Livin' on prayer" playing in the background |

Out of town pool report #9 As soon as President Biden took the stage to address the union workers, the hall reverberated with chants of "Thank you, Joe!" The president talked about his father losing his job as well as his pension and recalled how distraught he was. He talked about protecting pensions for 1.2 million workers and announced actions to prevent cuts to the earned pension benefits of 29,000 United Food and Commercial workers and retiree. The speech is being live-streamed. |

Out of town pool report #10 Per the White House: President Biden is awarding the Presidential Citizens Medal posthumously to Butch Lewis, a leader in the pension protection movement. Butch Lewis fought to protect union retirees' pensions from benefit cuts, and the pension protections in the American Rescue Plan were based on legislation named in Butch's honor, following Butch's death. The Presidential Citizens Medal is the nation's second highest civilian award, following the Medal of Freedom. A president may award the medal to individuals who have "performed exemplary deeds of service for their country or their fellow citizens." The President is presenting the medal to Butch Lewis's widow, Rita. The president got off the stage at 5:02 pm to loud cheers. The pool didn't see him exiting the building. |
