Executive Order 7095—Amendment of Schedule A, Subdivision I, Paragraph 7, of the Civil-Service Rules

July 08, 1935

By virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me by the provisions of paragraph Eighth of subdivision SECOND of section 2 of the Civil Service Act of January 16, 1885 (22 Stat. 403, 404), schedule A, subdivision I, paragraph 7, of the civil-service rules, is hereby amended to include positions of a confidential nature in the Philippine Islands, when filled by United States citizens. As amended the paragraph will read:

"Any person employed in a foreign country, or in the island of Guam, or in the island of Samoa, or in the Virgin Islands, or United States citizens employed in a confidential capacity in the Philippine Islands, when in the opinion of the Civil Service Commission it is not practicable to treat the position as in the competitive classified service; but this exception shall not apply to any person employed in a foreign country contiguous to the United States in the service of the Immigration and Naturalization Service, Department of Labor."
